It could be me. (Draw #15)

Another set of results, as perfunctory as a man’s sexual activity in the shower:

Numbers drawn: 01, 16, 17, 19, 33, 34 + bonus ball 09

My Numbers: 06, 09, 11, 23, 33, 44

No. of matching numbers: 1 + bonus ball

Price of ticket: £1

Amount won: £0

Financial outcome: -£1

Fifteen goes. FIFTEEN. And nothing. Not a single bean from the lottery. And yet still my sense of expectancy is not diminished, even though the other day i noticed the chances of winning a tenner are just 1 in 56 – so i’m not likely to win anything at all in my year-long1 experiment.

Lottery balance: £-15  //  Not A Lottery balance: £15.01

  1. 52 weeks, kids!

It could be me. (Draw #14)

Another week, another anti-climax…

Numbers drawn: 05, 22, 23, 24, 26, 29 + bonus ball 31

My Numbers: 06, 09, 11, 23, 33, 44

No. of matching numbers: 1

Price of ticket: £1

Amount won: £0

Financial outcome: -£1

So, no improvement in my “luck” but i have had my first “profit” in the Not A Lottery account thanks to some interest being accrued. A whole penny of interest. Look:

What, this old thing?

It has dawned on me just how neglected this blog is. If you want to blame (or thank) anyone or thing for this, then you should probably look in the direction of twitter. I seem to spend my digital life over there now. Not actually doing anything useful or productive you understand, rather i read other’s witticisms and try to produce some myself (unsuccessfully).

I’ve written before how i took up twitter in order to compliment this “tech” blog but that it didn’t end up working out like that. Now it seems i might make more use of this blog if i simply use it as an extension to my twittering – a place for thoughts that can’t be recorded in just 140 characters.

Or maybe it’ll remain neglected.

It could be me. (Draws #12 & #13)

Hello. Apologies for the lack of updates – i know you’ve all been on the edge of your seats to discover how this stupid little experiment is going, especially since i swore to try some new numbers. Here’s how i did on the 22nd May (ICBM draw #12)…

Numbers drawn: 01, 04, 16, 37, 47, 49 + bonus ball 27

My Numbers: 06, 09, 11, 23, 33, 44

No. of matching numbers: 0

Price of ticket: £1

Amount won: £0

Financial outcome: -£1

Wunderbar! And on the 29th May (ICBM draw #13)…

Numbers drawn: 02, 17, 36, 39, 42, 48 + bonus ball 41

My Numbers: 06, 09, 11, 23, 33, 44

No. of matching numbers: 0

Price of ticket: £1

Amount won: £0

Financial outcome: -£1

Can you tell i’m getting really, really bored of this? Gambling has never been so dull. Maybe if the balances stopped looking like this i’d be happier:

Lottery balance: £-13  //  Not A Lottery balance: £13

It could be me. (Draw #11)

I’m definitely changing my numbers for next week’s draw. Sod superstitions.

Numbers drawn: 1, 4, 24, 26, 27, 48 + bonus ball 28

My Numbers: 6, 9, 16, 23, 27, 32

No. of matching numbers: 1

Price of ticket: £1

Amount won: £0

Financial outcome: -£1

Remember to check back next week, when the balances will almost certainly continue to look something like this:

Lottery balance: £-11  //  Not A Lottery balance: £11
