It could be me. (Draw #44)

And did the fact that ICBM draw number 44 fell on New Year’s Day bring me any luck?

My Numbers: 02, 16, 17, 31, 32, 36

No. of matching numbers: 1

Of course not. I hate 2011 already. Still there has probably been another couple of pence in interest added to the Not A Lottery account (if i bothered to check it).

…But apparently not my financial worries. Not a single number. Oh well, maybe the Christmas draw next week will spread some joy and happiness my way.

It could be me. (Draw #41)

This week was the first use of a Lucky Dip ticket in this experiment. Let’s see if a randomly selected set of numbers faired any better than the usual ones…

Numbers drawn: 11, 15, 24, 33, 43, 49 + bonus ball 27

My Numbers: 02, 03, 16, 19, 27, 30

No. of matching numbers: bonus ball

Price of ticket: £1

Amount won: £0

Financial outcome: -£1

One number matched. If i’d stuck with my usual numbers i’d have matched two. No prize either way so i can hardly claim to be upset or disappointed. If you’d like to play along at home and share my jubilation/disappointment next week i can tell you that my Lucky Dip numbers are 05, 11, 33, 39, 43 and 47. Meanwhile, i can report that the Not A Lottery bank account accrued two pence interest last month. TWO PENCE! This shit is getting wild.

It could be me. (Draw #40)

And so i announce the results of the 40th draw in this 52 week experiment…

Numbers drawn: 04, 15, 19, 44, 45, 49 + bonus ball 11

My Numbers: 06, 09, 11, 23, 33, 44

No. of matching numbers: 1 + bonus ball

Price of ticket: £1

Amount won: £0

Financial outcome: -£1

Nothing out of the ordinary there then. I expect there’ll be another penny of interest in the bank account when i get around to checking. About the most exciting thing i have to report to you, dear viewer, is that i’ve finally changed my numbers. From next week onwards i’ll be playing a Lucky Dip ticket (that’s a ticket with a randomly generated set of six numbers, if you weren’t aware of UK Lotto terminology). Which means you should probably go out before Saturday and buy yourself a ticket with 06, 09, 11, 23, 33, 44 selected.
